All we want to do is eat your Brains…

August 29th, 2007 by admin

So it seems in a blink PAX is done and I can’t wait until next year already! I’ve got to say that it was a blast! I was super tired by the end of it…well actually I was super tired the whole time. Just like every year at E3 I always planned on actually going looking at the games that were shown and such…I really didn’t do any of that. I mainly ran around all over the place and was helping out where I could. If you didn’t go this year I’d really suggest that you set aside some cash and go next year. I think its going to be even more epic than this year was.

I’m guessing you guys read PA so you’d more than likely seen the video showing Jonathan Coulton during the “Re: Your Brains” song. I was one of the many zombies in that video…well, I wasn’t in the shot but I was there. Anyway, If you guys get a chance…which I’m guessing you will head over to Dude’s Website. That link will let you listen to all his songs and you can buy them! I really like “Creepy Doll”, “Re: Your Brains”, “Skullcrusher Mountain”, “The Future Soon”, and “I Feel Fantastic”. Dude is super funny and the songs are really catchy.

I picked up Bioshock yesterday. I figured its going to be a good game to use to “relax” since I’m working mad hours. Steph watched while I played through the demo a few weeks ago. She really enjoyed it so I figured she could be my “navigator”. Guys listen…I know a number of you out there have a girlfriend and or wife who dosn’t like games or want anything to do with them. One of the best things you can do is get the respective other to become the navigator. I.e. Get the hint book and hand it to said person and let them help you through the game. You might be completely opposed to hint guides but in the long run you need to see the bigger picture here. The whole thing is to get said significant other into video games. This is a way that has been proven to work. To the point where (I am not shitting you) they want you to play the game! They don’t need to spoon feed all the content to you but if you need help and they’re able to give you the answer that shit counts as “spending time together” and she’ll get interested in video games. Trust me it works out. So yeah, the game is beautiful. I’m only about an hour into it and its pretty cool / creepy….ok good times…

PAX!!

August 22nd, 2007 by admin

PAX is right around the corner and let me tell you, I’m SUPER EXCITED about this year! I’m going to be on two panels, Testing 101, and “Pitch your game idea”, and I’ll be moderating the “Breaking into the Industry” panel. I’ll also be taking part in the “Family Feud” game…event…thing. So if you’re going to “teh PAX” you should go to my panels! Every year PAX has been totally Awesome and I’m really stoked to see how it does in the new venue. No Doubt there are going to be lots of more people.

So my plan was to trade “teh Pokemanz” with people at PAX, however something else came up that allowed me to get the rest of the Pokemon I was looking for. In short…I have caught them ALL! That’s right, all 493! It feels pretty good to have wrapped that up. Everyone that I told about it kept asking me the same question “What are you going to do now?”… I found this question both interesting and weird….The interesting part was that they all asked the same question…the odd part was that I wasn’t sure. I think I’m going to try to figure out how to solve a Rubik’s cube. I’ve got a “system” that I’m using, that from what I understand of it, is a pretty good system. I’ll bring my cube to PAX so if you know how to solve them and can give me some pointers that’d be great!

In other news…Something has really been pissing me off lately. That being the Blue Tooth headsets. Why they bother me is that they’ve really driven a wedge into knowing who’s crazy and who’s not. I mean, before it was real easy to know there was some crazy guy walking by himself just talking…now everyone is doing it. Sure they could all be crazy in their own way but it requires me actually to do some more investigation into if the person is crazy or not which makes me look like a stalker…
