Time keeps on spinnin…

So yeah, I guess there was some weirdness with my site for a while there but it seems to be better now.
I hope you all had a good christmas and such with the new year and the celebrating and the opening of the gifts. I had a pretty good time, you know standard hang out with the family, play the 360 etc..etc..etc…
I started playing Lego Starwars II for the 360. I will say that I’m pretty much a Lego nerd, and a moderate Starwars nerd, but I’m an all out Starwars Lego nerd (Orginal Trilogy only). Everyone that has told me about said game as said that it was really good. I wasn’t sure what really to expect from a Lego Starwars game, so I downloaded the Demo through Xbox live and really enjoyed it. The little lego people don’t really speak in a real language but if you’ve seen the Starwars films you’ll pretty much know what’s going on and what they’re saying. By this point I’m not sure if there is a human who hasn’t seen the films…much less hasn’t seen the films and is surfing the web. A person who “surfs the web” and hell, even reads my website should have by this point seen the starwars films. If you haven’t and you’re new the “world wide \/\/3Bz0rz” there is more that really needs to be explained to you so I’m just going to say there are these “Moving pictures” that deal with a thing called “starwars”….trust me…it is a real thing.
I’m bummed out there isn’t co-op over live. At this point I really see no reason why any game dosn’t have some kind of co-op. The more the co-op the better. I’m suggesting that we not limit ourselves to the standard type of “co-op” play that we’ve always new and understood. I’m saying that some real money some where needs to be dumped into researching some new kinds of co-op. Newer better faster now with more co-op than the leading brand of co-op! Are you tired of just playing games “with your friends”? I’m saying that there needs to be some kind of co-op that “Takes it to the limit”! I’m not just talking about Capture the flag and Deathmatch…those are modes of play…I’m talking about some new kind of co-op that “bridges the gap”. Look, I’m not the guy who figures out what this new kind of co-op will be like. I’ll leave that to the big shots downtown. For now, I’m just going to say, that co-op…as we know it needs to have more of what we expect.
Ultimately, I could see Lego starwars having the kind of co-op we all know and love (to date). However, as I said…even a hint of the current “over live” co-op would have been nice. I’m not going to completely ding the game for not having it, I mean its a lego starwars game. There are already so many different nerd coffee related topics that it covers that nerds might talk about at some Denny’s late at night when they’re “out” not playing video games and talking about what kinds of things “would be cool if…”
Ok so, I have a DS. I have quite a few games for said DS and I’m having a real hard time wrapping my head around this handheld that seems to have “swept the nation”. I spoke with a friend of mine about it over the Holiday and he pretty much agreed that I need a title that will help me to completely understand the whole point of the thing. From all the people I’ve talked to who are DS owners, who actually play the thing on a regular basis they all seem to mention “the one game” that really helped the system gel for them. My first DS game was the DS take on Advance wars. I’ve been a fan of AW since the first one. I actually owned AW before I owned a SP. So I’m thinking this is going to “Take it to the limit” (as we spoke of before) in a new and different way from what I’d always understood “Wars” that were “Advanced”. Yeah ok, well, It did take it some where. To a place I really didn’t like. So, I tried the Castlevania game where you have to draw on the screen to do little “finishing spells” on the bosses…yeah, I wasn’t feeling that one either.
I have Mario Kart, that’s good, and I have Meteos…but you know about my “condition” so even though there are certian levels that I can play and see the correct “shapes and colors” it is still pretty frustrating. So I’m going to ask all of you people who more than likely have a DS who actaully like the system to tell me some games that you think will make the system make sense for me. I mean there is this touch pad thing and…two screens…no doubt games have used it in such a way as that it makes the games fun. Lookin at the sales figures for that handheld will attest to that. So, what game(s) will make this thing make sense and show me the light?
Cause right now, I’ve been enjoying my PSP a whole lot and I’ve been hard pressed to find anything. Look, I’ve been playing games for a long time, I understand that the root of this is that I don’t understand the power of said system and why at any level it would become an item that I bring around with me where ever I go. I.e. Going to some nerd event and hoping there is some “picto chat” going on that I can jump into…or whatever. I mean I really WANT to understand this thing.
For right now, the game that I’ve got my eye on is FF3. I hear that is the new hottness. I have been known to enjoy the occational RPG so I’m guessing this might be “the one”. I’ll keep you posted.
